Every dancer grows up in front of a mirror, watching and correcting herself. REFRACT turns that mirror outward.

In conversation with @audstarfreeman Audrey Freeman @maisonenclave, days before REFRACT opens in the ballroom of the @rosewoodhoteldecrillon Hôtel de Crillon, closing Art Basel Paris week.

Developed with @bureau.of.innovation , choreography by @manondubourdeaux Manon Dubourdeaux, an original score by @_by.alexander _BY.ALEXANDER, and a glass installation by @tinoseubert Tino Seubert and @rohamshamekh Roham Shamekh. Five dancers from the Opéra de Paris, Stuttgart Ballet and New York City Ballet, with the audience seated close enough that no two people see the same thing.

« There’s a rawness and intensity to his music that allows us to move differently, while still keeping the precision of classical technique. Neither art form has to conform to the other. »
